Google Phone’s Magnificent ‘Audio Emoji‘ reactions are rolling out
Google is now rolling out a new feature, Audio Emoji (👏, 😂, 🎉, 😢, 🥁, and 💩) in its phone app. Emojis are the best way to express your feelings during chats with your friends and loved ones. However, Audio Emoji is something else. Callers can choose any of the six Audio Emojis, the app will play a fun animation with sound in the front calling user interface for a few seconds.
Google Phone’s Magnificent ‘Audio Emoji’ reactions are rolling out through the latest update for its Phone app in the beta channel, version 128. This feature will be available in a few weeks, Google reported last February that Google was working on a feature, but it had a different name called Audiomojis.
The Folks at 9to5Google were able to get this feature working in the latest beta (v128.0.628175044). The app may soon let you click one of six “Audio Emoji” buttons to play a short sound.
Users will be able to choose between six sounds:
- Sad
- Applause
- Celebrate
- Laugh
- Drumroll (ba-dum ts)
- Poop (plays a fart sound)
Here are the screenshots below give you a good idea of Audio Emoji:
As you can see in this screenshot, how it is working while calling, it is easy to choose from six emoji options — clapping, laughter, a party horn, crying, a poop emoji, or the classic “drum roll”. The app will create a short animation, and then both parties can hear the sound. It’s a unique way to personalize calls. You will be able to access the buttons during a call by clicking the function in the dialer’s overflow menu. If you don’t want Audio Emoji, you can disable the Audio emoji through the settings menu.
There’s a bit of a “time delay” in between that prevents you from playing sounds again and again. You will have to wait sometime, it might be for the best in some cases. Let’s see how Google Phone users make use of this new feature, it’s going to be fun. There is no reason to love or hate the feature.
