Voice Status and Status Reactions features are introduced by WhatsApp | Android Self

WhatsApp, a messaging service owned by Meta, revealed new status features on Tuesday, including “Voice Status” and “Status Reactions.” The new features have begun to roll out to all users worldwide and will be available to everyone in the upcoming weeks.

WhatsApp has made its mark as the ultimate communication platform. With over 2 billion monthly active users, it’s no wonder that WhatsApp has become an amazing messaging service for personal and professional communication.

WhatsApp was created in 2009 by two former Yahoo employees, Brian Acton and Jan Koum. The app was originally designed as a cross-platform instant messaging service, but it has since evolved into much more. In 2014, Facebook acquired WhatsApp for $19 billion, which allowed the app to continue its rapid growth and expansion.

The WABetaInfo unveiled features including “Private Audience Selector,” “Status Profile Rings for New Updates,” and “Link Previews on Status.”

Users can modify their privacy settings for each status using the “Private Audience Selector,” allowing them to decide who can access their status whenever they change it.

The following five updates to WhatsApp Status are coming:

Selector for Private Audiences: You have the freedom to decide who sees your status updates. Each status has a selectable audience, and the privacy option is stored for next updates.

Voice Status: Now on WhatsApp, you can record and exchange voice messages for up to 30 seconds. This is a wonderful way to express yourself more naturally when sharing personal updates. Users can record and share voice messages for up to 30 seconds on their WhatsApp status using the “Voice Status” feature.

Status Reactions: With the addition of status reactions, responding to status updates has become simpler. To rapidly respond to a status update, swipe up and tap one of the eight emojis. You are still able to respond using text, voicemail, stickers, and other methods. After Reactions launched last year, this was the most requested feature by users.

Link Previews on Status: Link previews on WhatsApp status allow users to share links to websites, articles, videos, and other online content, and they display a summary of the content along with a thumbnail image. This makes it easier for users to see what the link is about before they click on it.

Status Profile Ring: “You’ll never be missed with the new status profile ring.”
