Exclusive Google Play Store lets you download two apps simultaneously
The Google Play Store has seen an excess of changes over the past years. It’s a good improvement from the Play Store’s past dealing which used to allow only one download at a time. It seems like Google is widely rolling out this feature to more Android devices. All Android users will likely receive this new feature eventually. However, it’s still not perfect because it doesn’t work for updates as works for new-only downloads.
Play Store users can enjoy this handy feature as an introduced long-awaited feature. Over the past few years, the feature has been in development since 2019. Google is changing the game by rolling out the feature to download two apps simultaneously.
It seems like a small change, but it’s a big update for anyone who values time. This change will be useful when setting up a new Android device. I hope that Google will continue to retouch this feature, possibly expanding it to include app updates as well.
The guys at 9to5Google first revealed this convenient new feature rolling out on a large scale, and it’s already available on most devices, including on my One Plus 9rt Smartphone as you can see in this screenshot below.
As you can see in this screenshot above, we can finally download two apps at the same time. You can check their live progress on the Google Play Store and your home screen as seen in the screenshot above. This updated change only works on new installs, the third will go in the queue as “pending”.
Remember, Google’s Play Store still does not allow multiple apps to download simultaneously. We found at testing that more than two apps can’t be downloaded at the same time but the Play Store pushes the third application download request to the pending. However, according to the source, Google is planning to expand this functionality for app updates too.
The ability to download two apps simultaneously might seem like a small win, but it’s a step in the right manner. Who knows? Maybe we’ll be updating our all-app library at the same time with just a few clicks soon.
Many improvements and new features are coming for the Play Store and other Google products as the company plans to host its developers’ event, Google I/O, on May 14. Google is also expected to reveal the Pixel 8a smartphone during the Google I/O session.
Note – Google has not officially announced the feature yet, and a date for a rollout to global.
