WhatsApp users will be able to edit messages soon

WhatsApp is a messaging app that has more than 2 billion users. It is a cross-platform app that allows users to send text messages, voice messages, make voice and video calls, share photos, videos, documents, and even their location. WhatsApp is free to use and has become an integral part of our daily communication.

WhatsApp began working on to modify sent text messages last year, similar to what users can currently do in applications like iMessage and Telegram. The feature was introduced in a beta version of WhatsApp for Android, and nothing has been heard about it since. The platform, though, is continuing to work on this feature, this time for the iOS app.

According to an online report, the popular messaging app is working on a feature that will allow users to edit an already-sent message.

WhatsApp will only display the label “edited” on messages that have been edited by the sender as seen in this screenshot. In this situation, the feature is more like Telegram. Another thing to remember is that the edit option only works for text messages, not for image, video, or document captions.

WhatsApp is currently developing this feature, which will be included in a future app version. WhatsApp, in our opinion, is focused on offering the greatest possible user experience, and this new feature is likely to improve the messaging experience of millions of WhatsApp users globally.

There is no information on when WhatsApp is going to make this feature available to everyone. The feature was just recently released to WhatsApp beta for iPhone users, the official release might happen very soon.
